  • The primary purpose of any Life coaching is to aid you in achieving personal or professional goals. It is inherently proactive and future-focused.

Holistic life coaching takes into account your full self —without harsh judgement— to implement the changes you want to make to get closer to the life you want for yourself. It’s a practice in somewhat radical self-curiosity and compassion.

This means we won’t be ignoring your body’s cues in order to strong-arm your way to a goal. We’ll tap into the unique, irreplaceable and often subtle wisdom of your mind, body, heart, and spirit to get you pivoting in the directions you want to go.

It also means that each session will be tailored to your intentions that day, in the current season of your life. We have different needs and types of structures that support us when we’re feeling totally lost in a big transition vs. when we’re taking action but getting hung-up on something mid-project. Or when we are in a dreamy place of possibility vs. settled into a groove that we’re getting a bit bored in or considering disrupting.

When we honor and engage with these complexities, we come closer to entering a flow state that makes succeeding in our intentions so much clearer, easier, and more enjoyable, even in circumstances when it is still challenging.

  • You may be ready for coaching if…

    • You’re functioning in life, but you feel stuck, aggravated, or constantly teetering on the edge of burnt out

    • You’re in a transition that’s got you feeling un-moored or overwhelmed

    • You’re tired of all the things that seem to constantly end up on the back burner of your life, simmering away and taking up energy, but never really moving forward

    • Parts of your life feel more disorganized and chaotic than you prefer

    • You’re realizing your old routines aren’t working anymore

    • You’re in a head and heart space where you’re willing to engage earnestly in self-reflection.

    • You want to feel more regulated, sure of yourself, and like you can handle whatever comes your way (or you invite your way!)

I personally came to coaching to help me navigate career challenges as a business owner, redefine some of my closest relationships for the better, and find a deeper sense of trust and resilience within myself in a world I was finding increasingly overwhelming.

As a coach I regularly self-coach, but I also still benefit greatly from continued 1-1 coaching. It helps me so much to organize my mind, honor my emotions, hear the calls of my creative passions, and cultivate a nurturing inner world that can laugh at and enjoy all the complexity that is living!

  • There are some similarities between the two because it is an opportunity to receive 1-1 care where we’ll discuss thoughts, feelings, and what you’re wanting to be different about your life.

In coaching there is no hierarchy and no diagnosing. It’s my job to partner with you to help you find your own answers.

Every step of the way my aim is to provide a focused container to connect you with your own creative agency. We will explore the questions you don’t get to on your own, and I’ll provide tools and frameworks that help you work with yourself instead of getting in your own way.

Life Coaching is sometimes compared to personal training.

Do you have to do it? No.

Does it help you show up, stay motivated, give you new ideas and resources, and provide an opportunity for supportive human connection? Yes!

Coaching and therapy can work very well in conjunction with each other, so you do no need to cease therapy just because you are seeking coaching.

  • It can be difficult for our friends and family to remain neutral with us. They often have their own expectations or desires for our lives.

Coaches are trained question-askers who are here to help you safely but bravely explore your dreams and hurdles —and find your own solutions that feel right to you— without any judgement or agenda.

As a life coach with a holistic focus, I am trained to help you access these solutions by tapping into some very quiet parts of you. Everyday interactions don’t tend to allow the space for the types of exploration and observation you can experience in a holistic coaching session.

  • Ultimately this will be completely up to you because there isn’t a prescription for a ‘right life.’

Engaging in coaching is a practice in gaining clarity for what is right for you, at this juncture in your life.

Particularly with a holistic approach, you can expect to come into deeper understanding of your multi-faceted self: why you are where you are now, where you are really wanting to go, and where your currently untapped agency and resources lie.

This tends to lead to experiencing less:

    • fear

    • avoidance

    • overwhelm

    • apathy

And opens up the door to experience more:

    • authenticity in your relationships

    • capacity to do things that once seemed hard or impossible

    • connection to purpose

    • emotional intelligence

    • somatic awareness

    • feelings of love and contentment toward yourself

    • excitement and creative energy for your passions

    • willingness, and even curiosity, to experiment, fail, and keep going

It is very challenging to sort everything out in the confines or our own un-managed minds, often we don’t get too far.

Challenges start to crop up and our minds say: ‘That sounds hard, let’s just not instead!‍ ‘

Our bodies chime and say: ‘Ick! That makes me feel pretty bad, no thank you!’

Delving into the self-reflective process of coaching should help you keep the gears turning further, with more ease and enjoyment.

  • It starts with a complimentary 30-45 minute ‘Discovery Call’ where we go over your questions and desires for coaching.

If we decide we are a good fit for each other, video calls proceed at the rate that is supportive to you.

While there are times when more frequency is appropriate, every other week is an average cadence when you begin coaching.

This provides a certain amount of structure and regularity without being too demanding on your schedule.

If you are engaging with coaching as an ongoing ‘maintenance’ protocol, every four-six weeks can be more appropriate.

Ultimately it’s very circumstantial and we can figure it out together as time goes on.

  • Sometimes self-reflective practices can be perceived negatively as selfish, but I think it is the opposite.

In coaching we take the time to examine our behaviors, honor our wishes, and learn how to nurture and support ourselves better.

In doing so, we show up more honestly in our relationships, create a lot less drama generally speaking, and often our ‘productivity’ rises significantly because we’ve taken the time to listen to all the chatter that is normally droning on in the background of our minds and bodies and learn to channel that energy where it wants to go. That’s actually quite a bit of fun, so we want to do more of it!

Life without reflection and adaptation is kind of like cooking in an increasingly messy kitchen.

It breeds more chaos around us, and we’re not having a very good time. We end up wasting a lot of our time and resources trying to work around the mess.

When we operate from a space of organization and care, we have more freedom to think creatively and more capacity to support those around us.

  • I am a certified Wayfinder Life Coach through Martha Beck Inc.

I also have 15 years of experience (and counting!) as a Licensed Massage Therapist and owner of my own practice.

Both of these modalities involve 1-1 care where we name a goal and work together to get there not with force, but with focused, exploratory attention.

I am passionate about and well-versed in creating spaces where people feel safe and listened to.
